Get your creative juices flowing with this scholarship
Ever wanted to create a prom outfit? Make it happen and you stand a chance to win a significant $10,000 scholarship
Are you part of the college education online family? Then you’re probably familiar with all the benefits online degree programs have brought to our lives. Now even if you’re not a traditional student you can still have hope of completing your higher education.
Online degree programs are flexible and won’t put a strain on other things you might have going on in your life at that time. College education online represents the next level in acquiring new skills and a fresh perspective on life.
And you know what? College education online also brings a new take on the whole finance thing. College should cost a lot of money, right? It’s like a given. But it doesn’t really have to be. We’re saying this because online degree programs are usually much more affordable than their traditional counterparts. And if you throw in a scholarship then you’re good to go.
Speaking of scholarship, we have one we want to share with you. It’s an atypical program which does not involve a lot of work form the part of the applicant – which is good, right since your time is limited?
Instead you’ll be asked to do something a lot more fun. But first, let us ask you another question, have you had your prom yet? If not, then you can enter the wacky Duck Brand Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest for a change to win $10,000.
Students who are in high school, a home school association or other school-sanction prom in the 2018 calendar year are required to create prom outfits using Duck Tape (basically fancy, patterned duct tape).
The grand prize of $10,000 will go to the couple who creates the most creative outfits for their prom, but there are other prizes you could win. The 2n prize is worth $5,000, the third $3,000. A bunch of $1,000 awards are also available for singles and runners-up.
Students who always had a flare for design and creativity will probably be thrilled to hear about this scholarship contest.
The good news is that Duck Tape does not require you to send in grade transcripts, CVs or letters of recommendation, but will verify that you are a high school student in all honesty. Once you have created your outfits, you are required to take a few photographs to showcase them, and be sure to include some close-up details in your portfolio as well.
The next deadline for this bizarre yet generous scholarship is May 31, 2018 so fortunately you have plenty of time to prepare. This would be a great creative project to take up and if you’re lucky you might come out of it with a big cash prize too which you will then be able to invest into your education.
Even if online degree programs don’t require you to purchase books and study materials, since everything it’s digitizes, you’ll still have to pay for tuition. And having $10,000 to back your efforts is a really good start.
