The second scholarship opportunity comes from the American Society of Human Genetics which is hosting an essay contest once a year for DNA day.
You’ll need to have a passion for genetics to apply to this one, but if you do you shouldn’t have a hard time coming up with an essay that answers the following question (for the 2018 application):
“Do you think medical professionals should be required for all genetic testing, or should consumers have direct access to predictive genetic testing?”
The winner will be awarded a $1,000 grant, while the second and third place winner will also be offered $600, $400 prizes respectively.
Note that the contest is open for students in grades 9 to 12 (worldwide), so if you are already enrolled in college you can no longer apply. Yet, if you’re online taking a few internet courses you are eligible.
Have an interest in wildlife conservation and related topics? Then this scholarship program might be just what you’re looking for. Put your expertise to good use and submit an essay in which you tackle a subject related to the topic.
Two scholarships worth $1,500 each will be awarded to students who reside in one of these states: Tennessee, Mississippi or Arkansas. On top of that you will have to be a high school senior prepping to start university or college.
As you can see, if you really want to make some money to pay for that online courses, you can very easily. You just have to be informed. Keep a detailed calendar of all creative scholarship contests available and do your best to try and apply to the majority. You never know where luck might strike.
